These two films were made by BBC Scotland and were part of a report about the increased number of children with visual impairments in Scotland.
The first film shows amazing 3D images of the depleted visual pathways in a child with one form of CVI (PVL - periventricular leukomalacia).
The first film shows our trustee Helen being interviewed, explaining how many years of not understanding how the CVIs affected her son meant he couldn't learn anything. The film clip includes outstanding images of how visual pathways can be affected, using 3D rotating brain images provided by the Laboratory for Visual Neuroplasticity (click here to our link to these images with a fuller explanation).
The second film was taken from the BBC News Reporting Scotland Programme, aired on 3 April 2018, and shows further interviews, and Helen suggesting that CVI is the likely reason for the increase in the numbers of children with visual impairment.
Your generous donations will be put to immediate use in supporting our charity...
At CVI Scotland we are devoted to helping people understand cerebral visual impairments, and together working towards developing the understanding of this complex condition.
