This webinar for Texas School for the Blind (TSBVI), from December 2020 is presented by CVI Scotland's Dr Andrew Blaikie and Helen St Clair Tracy
Dr Andrew Blaikie, a consultant ophthalmologist, explains typical visual development in children from new-born, and the causes, prevalence and characteristics of cerebral visual impairments.
Helen St Clair Tracy, parent of a child with CVI, goes through some of the individual cerebral visual impairments commonly found in children.
The webinar includes a number of short videos showing childhood visual development, reduced visual attention and virtual reality simulations of reduced visual acuity, reduced contrast sensitivity, lower visual field impairment and reduced visual attention.
